Fulton vs. Kingston- The Series

 

   The Fulton Falcons and Kingston Yellow Jackets meet for the 11th time tonight at Dr. Nat Sugarman Field tonight. Kingston leads the all-time series 6-4, and holds a 5-1 record against Fulton at Kingston. Fulton has won the last three games in the series, and the last game played at Kingston. The teams have met in the post-season on three occasions, dating back to the schools� first meeting in 1988. Kingston has won all three playoff meetings. The Yellow Jackets have made 20 playoff appearances, winning the state championship in 1973. Coach Vic King is in his 19th season as the head coach of the Yellow Jackets; holding a 155-63 record.

Last Time Out

 

   Fulton put together another impressive performance last Friday night in Huntsville, as the Falcons defeated the Scott Highlanders 54-6. Fulton struck the Highlanders by air in the first half as QB Ish Young went 4of 5 passing for 130 yards and three touchdowns. Young connected with Elliott Bishop for touchdowns of 27 and 63 yards, while Young hit DeMarcus Matthews for a 21 yard TD. The Fulton defense held Scott to only one yard of total offense in the first half. The Fulton running game took care of business in the second half, recording three rushing touchdowns. Dennis Freeney scored the final two TD�s for Fulton on returns. He returned a fumble 62 yards and returned a Scott kickoff 65 yards for a touchdown in the 4th Quarter.

 

 

Fulton moves up to 6th in AP poll

 

   Fulton�s win over Scott last week propelled the Falcons to the number 6 spot in this week�s AP poll. A-E remained the number 1 team in the state. The Falcons are currently ranked #3 by Earl Nall, and #2 by Sonny Moore.

Last Time Out

 

   Fulton put together their best all-around game of the season last Friday night, soundly defeating Anderson Co. 35-7 at Bob Black Field. The Falcons scored first in the game on a 40-yard pass from Jaren Troutman to DeMarcus Matthews. Anderson Co. tied the game in the second quarter on a 6 yard run by Shane Surface. Fulton took the lead for good after Brandon Winters blocked an AC quick kick and Tyrone Cobb scored on a one-yard run. The Falcons led at halftime 14-7. Fulton extended their lead in the second half on another one-yard run by Cobb, a 67-yard punt return by Elliott Bishop, and a two-yard run by Dennis Rogan. The Falcon defense held the Mavericks to 111 total yards and 0 passing yards.
