Rogan- University of Tennessee- The 2006 PrepXtra Player
of the Year leaves as Fulton�s most decorated player. Rogan
holds the school�s all-time career rushing yard mark (5621),
career rushing touchdown mark (81), and single-season
rushing yard leader (2668). In addition, Rogan ranks first
in the TSSAA record books with 296 points scored in 2006. He
ranks second in state history in consecutive 100-yard games
(19), rushing touchdowns in a season (42), and total
touchdowns in a season (47). Rogan ranks ninth in TSSAA
history in career rushing yards. He earned TSWA
all-state honors in 2005 and 2006, and
was also nominated for the American General Mr. Football
Award in those years. Rogan played in three state
championship games. He recorded three tackles as a Freshman
in Fulton�s 36-9 victory over Covington in 2003, ran for a
16-yard touchdown against Greenbrier in 2004, and earned
Offensive MVP honors with 213 rushing yards and 2 TDs
against David Lipscomb this season. Rogan rushed for 301
yards and 5 touchdowns in a regular season victory over
Scott in 2005. Fulton has had four players earn letters in
football at Tennessee. They are Lyonel Stewart (75, 77, 78),
Jackie Walker (69, 70, 71), Ron Widby (64, 65, 66), and
Johnny Williams (81, 82, 83). Tennessee finished the 2006
season with an Outback Bowl appearance and a 9-4 record.
JaMichael
Mathis- Campbellsville University- Despite playing out
of position on defense at Fulton, Mathis made 24 starts at
defensive end over the last two years. In college, Mathis is
projected to play defensive back. In his career, Mathis
recorded 128 tackles, 36 tackles for loss, and 21 sacks. He
led the 2006 Falcons with 17.5 tackles for loss. Mathis was
also a major playmaker at tight end for Fulton. He is best
remembered for his game-winning 40-yard touchdown catch
against Tyner in 2005. Mathis caught 27 passes for 469 yards
and 5 touchdowns at Fulton. Campbellsville University is
located in Campbellsville, Kentucky. The Tigers play in the
NAIA Mid-South Conference and compiled a 2-8 record in 2006.
Former Carson-Newman assistant Jim Deaton is
Campbellsville�s head coach.
Antonio
Hamilton- Itawamba
Community College- Hamilton was a four-year starter for the
Falcons and was a force on the Falcon defensive line.
Hamilton started his freshman year at middle linebacker,
before moving to defensive tackle his sophomore year. He
earned TSWA Class 3A All-State honors for this season.
During his three years at Defensive tackle, Hamilton made
226 tackles and 42 minus-yard stops. Hamilton is extremely
quick for his size, and was used as a power-back in short
yardage situations on offense. He scored on a 39-yard run
against Livingston Academy this year. Itawamba Community
College is located in Fulton, Mississippi. The Tigers are
coached by Jeff Terrill, and finished 2006 in the playoffs
with a 7-3 mark.
James
Higgins- Joliet Junior College- Higgins was one of the
most-steady performers on the Fulton offensive and defensive
line in 2006. After serving as a key reserve in 2005,
Higgins started all 15 games at left guard and defensive
tackle in 2006. He constantly plugged up the middle on
defense, recording 55 tackles and 11 minus yard hits over
the last two seasons. Higgins was a vital part of an
offensive line that helped Fulton ball carriers gain 3557
yards rushing this year. Joliet Junior College is located in
Joliet, IL, and completed a 7-4 record this year in the
Midwest Football Conference. The Wolves are coached by Tom
Minnick. Indianapolis Colts DB Kelvin Hayden, who returned
an interception 56 yards for a TD in the Super Bowl, played
for Joliet in 2002.
